Magic Valley H.O.T. Academy

Fire Training

May 3-9, 2021

Changes for 2021

Your committee members have been working on the Magic Valley H.O.T. Academy for the last year and a half. Due to the current and previous regulations in regards to COVID, we felt that we would have to postpone some of the events and activities that we have grown accustomed to over the years.
The following are a few of the changes that were made for the 2021 Academy.

  1. We have decided to not offer an Academy lunch due to past and current COVID restrictions. Attendees will be asked to bring a lunch for all classes. This is to minimize any potential exposure and to keep all staff, instructors and students as safe as possible from any potential exposure.1)

  2. Students and Instructors will be asked to take precautions to limit potential spread. We know that these courses will have you in close proximity of others. When not directly involved in an evolution, we ask that all parties maintain an acceptable distance and if they feel they need to, wear a mask. We ask all attendees to self-police themselves and if they feel that they may have any symptoms, to not engage in training. CDC guidelines will be followed. You are more than welcome to wear a mask during your training.

  3. The annual Hospitality night event has also been cancelled. Although this is a fun event of the Academy, it is not essential. We are working on some potential ideas for raffle items and how they will be dispersed.

We are hoping that we can get back to our normal Academy Operations in the future. We appreciate your support and understanding with these decisions. We are excited to be able to offer training after the past years’ events.
